Independence Arch Initiative – A National Vision
Among ME Innovations' most distinguished achievements is the Independence Arch, an original monumental concept developed to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the United States.
Conceived by founder Shady Migally, the project reimagines the traditional triumphal arch as a uniquely American civic landmark, bringing together classical architectural references, historical symbolism, solar alignment, and immersive public spaces into a single national monument.
Developed as an independent initiative in the public interest, the proposal was formally presented to federal planning and design agencies in Washington, D.C., including public testimony before the National Capital Planning Commission. The project explores the potential for a monumental museum, educational exhibits, an observation deck overlooking the nation's capital, and a precisely aligned annual Independence Day solar illumination symbolizing the enduring principles of liberty and the Declaration of Independence.
The Independence Arch reflects ME Innovations' belief that the built environment can preserve history, inspire future generations, and strengthen a sense of national identity. The project represents the firm's experience in concept development, design thinking, architectural visualization, and visual communication at a civic scale, combining artistic vision, technical exploration, and a deep respect for America's heritage.
